15th Annual Stingrays’ Splash

Location:            Raritan Valley Community College

 

Facility:           RVCC pool is a six-lane, 25 yard pool; non-turbulent lane lines; Colorado timing system with single line time display board and a large amount of spectator seating. Set-up and marshalling in the gym across hallway from pool.

 

Warm-Up:       Teams will be assigned to warm-up lanes and periods.  All warm-ups for each team will be at the assigned times only.  Circle swimming in all lanes will start 7:00 a.m. for the first session and 1:00 p.m. for the second session.  Sprint lanes may be run as needed at coaches’ discretion.  First session will start at 8:00 a.m.; Second session will start at 2:00 p.m.  Information on warm-up times and lanes will be available in the coaches’ packet.

 

Entries:          All swimmers may enter a maximum of three events per session.  Only team entries will be accepted.  Entries must be submitted in YARDS times.  HY-TEK entries are strongly encouraged.  Please e-mail your team’s entry file to bromano@vianj.com.  Please mail meet fees and a paper copy for backup to Barbara Romano, HCY Stingrays, 36 Toad Lane, Ringoes NJ, 08551.

 

Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. Friday. December 21, 2007. 

 

Please note:  This meet has filled up quickly in the past and usually closes before the due date.  Entries are accepted in the order they are received.  It is possible that one session may close before the other and a team closed out of one session.  If you wish confirmation that your entries have been accepted please supply an email address.

 

Results:          Results will be posted at RVCC throughout the day on the wall across from the pool.  A copy of the final meet results will be mailed or emailed to each team within 24 hours of the conclusion of the meet.  Final results will also be posted on HCY’s website at www.hcymca.org/SwimTeam/index.htm

 

Eligibility        All swimmers must be YMCA registered swimmers.  Age eligibility is determined by the swimmers’ age as of 12/1/07. 

 

Format:           All events will be timed finals.  No deck entries will be allowed.  Coaches’ check-in sheets will be provided in the coaches’ packet, available at the front door.  Swimmers without a coach should report to the check-in table in person.  Positive check-in sheets must be turned in at 7:15 for the morning session, 1:15 for the afternoon session.  If the meet is reseeded, swimmers scratched due to failing to check-in will be allowed to swim at the discretion of the Meet Director and only if there is space in an already scheduled heat of that event.  Additional heats will not be added.  No refunds will be made for swimmers who are scratched.

 

Rules:             2007 USA rules will govern all competitions. Decisions by the referee are final.

 

Officials:         Any YMCA certified official who is willing to volunteer their time should contact the Meet Referee, Bart Fellin, at (908) 788-1833.

 

Awards:          Morning Session:  Custom designed medals 1st - 6th & ribbons 7th - 12th. 

Afternoon Session:  Custom designed medals 1st - 3rd & ribbons 4th -12th.  In case of a tie, duplicate awards will be presented.  A participation ribbon will be provided for each competitor.  Awards can be picked up by the coach at the end of each session in the awards room.

Admission:     Adults $4.00. Children under 12 free.  Programs (inc. both sessions): $4.00

 

Refreshments and T-Shirts:   Food and drink will be available.  T-Shirts and sweatshirts will be available.  Swimming apparel and equipment will be available from D&J Sports.

 

Inclement Weather:  In case of adverse weather conditions or other emergency situations which force cancellation of any or all of the meet, no refunds will be made of any entry fees.  Unless the meet is specifically cancelled, assume that it is on.  If the meet must be cancelled there will be a cancellation announcement on the HCY Stingrays message center line at:

From the North or South - Take Rte. 287 to Rte. 78 West. Then follow directions below from Exit 26 off of Rt. 78.

 

From the East- Take Rte. 78 West to Exit 26 (North Branch). Make a left at the traffic light at the end of the off ramp. RVCC is 2-3 miles on left.  Follow signs to parking lot #2.  The pool is located in the Physical Education building.

 

From the West- Take Rte. 78 East to Exit 26 (North Branch). At the light at the end of the off ramp make a right. RVCC is 2-3 miles on left.  Follow signs to parking lot #2.  The pool is located in the Physical Education building.

On Sunday January 20, 2008 over 500 swimmers ages 5-18 will be competing in the 15th Annual Hunterdon County YMCA Stingrays’ Splash Swim Meet at Raritan Valley Community College.
