RE:        Spring Clinic and Summer Swim Session Credits

Since many Mariners’ parents have had some questions regarding fees, the following explanation of fee credits should be helpful.  As you know, full year payments include winter competitive, spring clinic, and summer workouts.  Since the spring clinic was cancelled, everyone who paid for the full year will receive a credit for the spring clinic portion of his or her paid fees. 

Summer Session will take place as planned and will be lead by Coach Al Legin who is an ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) certified Level IV coach. He currently serves as Assistant Head Coach for the Morris County Swim Club in addition to being the Head Coach of the Madison High School Girls Swim Team.  Al has been coaching USS, YMCA and HS swim teams for the past 30 years in Pennsylvania, Illinois and now in New Jersey. Colin Kostyak and Chris Lee will assist Al this summer.

The Madison Area YMCA realizes that some families who paid for the full year registered for other programs when the coaching changes were announced.  Due to these special circumstances, we will credit you for the summer portion of the full year fees if you registered your child with another summer program before we finalized our summer plans. . To receive your credit, please complete a credit request form and attach a copy of the confirmation of your alternate summer program registration.  Credits can be used toward other YMCA programs, as well as quarterly or annual membership dues. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept credits for monthly draft membership dues

I am sure that the swimmers enrolled in our summer program will enjoy and be thoroughly challenged by our highly qualified summer staff.  Our search for a full time head coach and assistant coach is underway. The deadline for applications is June 27, 2008 and our plan is to have the new coaches identified by August 1, 2008.
