Family, friends, and neighborhood business owners, please join the Madison Area YMCA Mariners Swim Team to raise funds for the Y’s Annual Support Fund and the Mariners Swim Team.

WHAT IS THE SWIM-A-THON?

The Madison YMCA Swim-a-thon is an event where members of the YMCA Mariners Swim Team seek pledges from sponsors for each lap they swim. Each swimmer will attempt to swim as many laps as possible during a designated amount of time. Pledges can be a fixed amount or an amount per lap.

WHAT IS THE ANNUAL SUPPORT FIND?

The YMCA Annual Support Fund finances low-income youth and families by subsidizing memberships to give the families an opportunity to participate in the health, fitness, child-care, and recreation programs offered at the YMCA. Last year, the Y provided over $680,000 through the Annual Support Fund to low-income families. Funds raised from the Swim-a-thon will go to the Annual Support Fund and the Mariners Swim Team.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE A CONTRIBUTION?

• Pledge an amount per lap for the participating swimmer.
• Contribute a fixed amount.
• Make checks payable to Madison Y/MPO (Mariners Parent Organization).

HOW WE CAN THANK YOU?

• Each sponsor will receive a letter indicating the amount donated. The letter can be used for tax purposes.

• Contributions over $100 will be acknowledged in the Madison Area YMCA Annual Report.
• Businesses will be recognized as contributors on the Mariners Web Site.
